The digital transformation of our lives reminds me of automobiles, electric lights and so much else we take for granted now but that so restructured humanity. I wonder what a writer like J.G. Ballard might have done with it.

High-Rise and Crash are most apt (characters living in and obsessed/possessed by the technology around them); Empire of the Sun is a beautiful, autobiographical retelling of his WWII experience as a child.
