I have a shocking and urgent announcement (cannonball)

I hope you had a restful Christmas and are feeling motivated and engaged for this pivotal year of 2024!!!

(will it be the AI apocalypse? Economic collapse? World War 3? Who knows…)

Plans for the year going forward:

• Booking podcasts for this year: some new faces and hopefully more appearances from favourites such as Vervaeke, McGilchrist and Schindler, if the gods of podcasting smile upon us.

• More video content: going deeper into the Philosophical topics I've been exploring in the essays and podcasts (but on video…)

• The new essay series on self-knowledge in the digital age combines ancient philosophy and modern psychology, cognitive science and neuroscience, cybernetics and AI (?). (This series is inspired by Vervaeke's proposal that the Socratic ideal of 'Know thyself' is about an 'owner's manual' to being a human being).

• A live podcast in Dublin. I don't know where, when, or with whom, but this will happen - so stay tuned.

Financial Update

I've been running a financial deficit on these essays and podcasts for the last three years: paying for platforms, software, subscriptions, equipment, time, etc. I want to keep all the content free, but I am adding an option to support the project through the Substack if you choose.

It's only 10 bucks a month, but if I could get any support this way, it would be truly life-changing.

My long-term plan is to expand the Wisdom Dojo online with classes, workshops and reading groups, and also IRL with similar talks on philosophy as a way of life, spiritual exercises, and embodiment through martial arts.
